we have to keep in mind that proteins are not supposed to "fuel" the body. This is more a carb / fat job. Proteins are mainly use to muscle mass maintenance / increase
Thanks! I keep forgetting that. Wow, I learned a lot from this thread.

All thanks again for the feedback and comments.

What do you all typically eat in regards to protein quantity? A lot of opinions out there...In general I thought at a minimum a person was suppose to eat 1g/lb of BW. some say as low as .8g. If you weigh 180lbs that equates to between 144 -180 g. If meat has an ave of 7g/ounce, then that would be 20-26 ounces of meat a day. 4 hour eating window??? even if you go as low as .5, or 90g, that is 12 ounces of meat

I always try to take a double portion of meat, reducing starches and carbs instead. In addition I drink a big protein isolate shake and its not uncommon for me to fit in some eggs at the end. It's not easy to eat a lot of protein on one meal.

A reminder that the Warriot Diet is not about fasting but rather alternating periods of under- and over-eating.

My typical day includes a small portion of kefir and a few spoonfuls of nut butter plus vitamins, plus coffee and water, as breakfast, and a protein bar for lunch, with coffee and water. Everything raw, organic, and vegan except the kefir (which isn't vegan since it's dairy).

And then a nice dinner.

Salmon, steak, tuna, eggs, almonds, peanut butter, quark, cottage cheese, Greek yoghurt, Turkish yoghurt and protein powder are my main protein sources.

I eat protein moderately. High amounts needed for natural trainee is a myth.

Hello,

What do you all typically eat in regards to protein quantity?
I am about 1,2g / kg of bodyweight

Lots of options: beef, chicken, turkey, egg, coley, salmon, tuna, cottage cheese and goat cheese. Then, you can go for lentils / beans (but lots of carbs here too), almonds and peanuts (but lots of fat too). Of course, you can use some supplement with protein powder "just in case". However, I do not think they are "necessary" if you have a balance diet with real food.

Kind regards,

Pet'

Hello,

I forgot to mention legumes.
Legumes will give you plenty of carbs. It can be pretty useful if you go for a frame like 18/6 or even 24h.

Plus, some of them are also plenty of proteins so they can be a precious ally

Kind regards,

Pet'

Hello,

Plus, lentils, beans, fava beans, etc... are mainly gluten free which can be a good option for all which have insulin issues.

Kind regards,

Pet'

Fasting rebooted my Insulin and I no longer have those issues and lost a great deal of bodyfat. I recommend everyone at least try it out if you have those issues.

Today was six hour eating window. Body composition is getting better slowly, but steadily.

I know it can vary [a lot] from a person to another, but how long did you practice WD before seing an effect ?

Good point, yes. The WD proper is not a water fast.

One could argue that one is not doing WD if one is fasting all day. Ori Hofmekler does not advocate for it in the book. And I would argue a water fast every day indefinitely for a fit person may not be a good idea. But it sure is a good way (I've found) of losing body fat due to the insulin sensitivity and subsequent fat burning promoted by extended (beyond overnight) fasting.

WD proper is probably a great way to maintain leanness and not get bigger (fatter) as happens gradually for most of us on the Standard American Diet.

Technically it was not the WD (as @Steve Freides points out WD is an Undereat and then EAT phase)

I started with Eat,Stop,Eat method of fasting. 1 day a week fasting till Dinner.
It was difficult at first but it starting working in that first month. First thing I noticed was the "HANGRY's " went away.
Then the waist started shrinking (about 36" waist at that time 225lbs)
So I went to 2 days of ESE fasting Monday and Thursday.
Then it really got cooking. Within a few months I hit an all time BW low of 176lbs and 32" waist @ 6' tall.

Now (about 2 years since I first started fasting) I am at a 31" Waist and 190lbs- Doing more of the 16/8 daily fasting using a modified Leangains method.

Great stuff! I started IF in January at 229lb, 42" waist, 6' tall.

Now 213lb, 37" waist, (still 6' lol) and hoping to end up around 190 and keep below 36" waist and below 20% body fat (I estimate now between 24-25%, was at 28% before).

ESE, isn't it just a Warrior Diet fast for 1 day? ESE everyday Warrior? I realize it may differ in regards to food combining and under eating, but from a time frame?
