Repeat Until Strong.

Left elbow is getting slowly better. That is the good new. The bad news - terrible food poisoning yesterday, oh man... I guess the universe is sending me a message "slow down".

Just GTG pistols and easy stretching today.

Anyway:

Hope you feel better soon!

I tried lighter get-ups - no good, not yet. Pistols, easy crawling, stretching. Elbow is getting better though.

Elbow is not getting any better - they took 2 syringes of blood/water/whatever fluid out of it on Thursday, but it is swollen again. X-ray is good, the elbow is not damaged at all, full ROM, no pain, but because of the swelling I can't do any bent arm/straight arm work. No swings, no get-ups. annoying. I had to cancel a martial arts workshop I was supposed to teach next weekend in Germany - I need to give it a time to heal up.

I will use it as an opportunity, and will work on pistols (GTG) and splits (straddle, front split, side split). Once the elbow heals up, back to S&S, of course.

This weekend I had the honour to assist Jon Engum, Master SFG, Flexible Steel founder, at the Flexible Steel Level 1 Cert in Hungary. I have met many old friends from the StrongFirst Hungary community, great time!

I woke up from my hibernation and this is what I read... Sorry to hear about your elbow my friend. Heal fast!

Thank you - getting better. Today the doctor drained lot of blood and water from the elbow again, slowly getting to the normal shape. Probably one or two more visits, some rest, and I am ready to rock again.

Yestarday's and today's practice:
- GTG pistols, sets of 3 with 16 kg
- lots of stretching

Another visit to the doctor, elbow shape close to the normal.

Today's practice:

- GTG pistols, sets of 3 with 16 kg
- lots of stretching

I feel quite a big stretch in my right glue when doing the pistols on my right leg. I feel the progress, and enjoy the active rest.

After 5th medical intervention, the elbow is finally getting better - I would say almost good, no swelling. I will take it easy, and start with some 2-handed swings and shoe get-ups again.

Weakend's practice:
- GTG pistols, sets of 3 with 20 kg
- lots of stretching

Today's photo: Kettlebell See-Saw Press. From the Health, Strength and Development. How to Obtain Them, The Milo Bar Bell Comp., 1922.

See-Saw presses were very popular with dumbbells and especially with kettlebells back in the old days. Great exercise.

Today's practice:

- easy half get-ups with 24, 20 reps total

Testing my elbow. I did them all on a soft judo mat, seems good! Back to SAS, yes yes, damn, I miss it so much.

Today's practice:

All good, getting slowly and patiently back to my old weights, elbow feels good.

and @Harald Motz certainly follows in the footsteps of these giants.
it all started with getting up to it, literally.
As Pavel stated in kettlebell simple and sinister: the get up - your strongman mentor. I find it quite interesting to muse on it, practice on it and getting inspired by it just watching an old picture of it or read on it. A kettlebell is a round circle which connects past and future in the present.

Yesterday's practice:

- easy half get-ups with 36, 20 reps total

A study by Katherine Dahlsgaard, Christopher Peterson, and Martin Seligman looked at how virtue is articulated in Buddhism, Christianity, Confucianism, Hinduism, Judaism, Taoism, and what they call “Athenian philosophy” (mostly Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle). They found a rather surprising amount of congruence among all of these religious-philosophical traditions and identified a set of six “core” virtues.

- from Massimo Pigliuci, How to be a Stoic. Using Ancient Philosophy to Live a Modern Life.

Thanks to Tim Ferriss for recommending this excellent book.
