At around 8:44 in the video Two cats Pavel talks about a stress model which he calls pathological. I cannot make out what the stress model is. Can somebody write it out for me? A "for dummies" explanation will be appreciated too, or some discussion around this topic of stress models.

The man's name is Hans Selye, I'm pretty sure - you can google that plus "stress model" and similar expressions.

@Mattsirpeace has mentioned this on the forum before but he has not been active for a couple of years.

His early rat experiments led to the understanding that stress can alter human physiology. And we all share similar responses.... General adaptation syndrome, or the stress response. If stressors go on too long, you get sick.
Very brief summary.
The most recent third edition of Why zebras don't get ulcers by Robert Sapolsky
includes a lot of new understandings of stress and its impact. Well recommended. At 540 pages it will keep you awake at night, disturbing your circadian rhythms and invoking said stress response but at least you'll know why!

@Anna C, glad you are enjoying it. Good to listen to on a long drive but maybe not in traffic and roadworks. Got to watch those ulcers!
