I think that is the best whisky I've ever tasted. It's sublime. Maybe it's the best alcoholic beverage I've tasted. I've tasted a lot of them, and that takes the spot. I've only ever drank a few glasses of it though, it's far too pricey for me, but I once had some drink tokens in a bar where they could be used for anything they had on the shelves. That was one of the best drinking occasions I've ever had. I spent most of the tokens on Blue Label.

When it comes to Johnnie Walker I don't really like red, it's too expensive for what it is, basically a cheap blend. Black is in general nice but lacks punch and flavour to me. I've drank a couple of bottles of Green and really liked it.

I've never wanted to open it thinking I Will save it for a special occasion. Forgot to open with the birth of my first child so felt wrong to open with the birth of another for the other four. Everything else feels trivial in comparison so it's just sat in my cupboard!

@Glen
Amongst the 'blends' it is very highly regarded, by any one I know who has tasted it.
Above my pay grade however...

Tried Glenfiddich IPA which is a non age stated single malt finished in barrels that held India Pale Ale beer. I wouldn't have been able to pick it out but after knowing what it was, I could definitely get a hint of the hops on the finish. Very tasty malt in my opinion.

I thought Scottish whiskies had to be aged for a minimum of 2 or 3 years by law in Scotland. Maybe the unaged tag refers to a whiskey that's had no further aging like some of the 20 year old stuff you see on the top shelf ?

Way above mine too, hence the trepidation in opening. Knowing my luck a guest would end mixing it with coke knowingly!

You've had it for this long.... just open it.... enjoy it. Whiskey was meant to be drank and enjoyed... especially with friends. No sense in leaving it sealed. You never know, you may decide you enjoy whiskey and want to try others.

Very true, I'm hoping for some good news this week. Fingers crossed and I'll pop it open

Guys, here is a recommendation for you:
Talisker "The Distillers Edition" aged 10 years.

Great single malt! Smokey but with sweet hints rounded by the flavours of the sea.

Any tequila lovers out there? After recent trip to Mexico I am down to try some more of this beverage, open to suggestions after airport security “confiscated” my bottle on New Year’s Eve (that I bought in duty free .)

Not a fan of tequila at all but had Herradura Double Barrel Reposado that I nearly could not tell it was a tequila... best tequila I've ever had.

I liked the Don Julio 1942 a lot. When I first opened the bottle it was like I couldn't believe how good it was. The taste seemed to degrade pretty quickly though. I didn't want to use it up too fast but after a few months it just wasn't as good. But it still made a darn fine old fashioned.

Guys,
I have heard all kind of good things about Westcork. Their 10yo is said to be very good yet pretty price-convenient.
Any experience with that?

I have not even heard of that one. I have a very limited selection where I'm at so the off the wall ones I will never see unless traveling.

Had Dalmore 18 and Glendronach 18 at my local whiskey club last night. Both very good but preferred the Dalmore even though it was $60 more a bottle.

Thanks - tried to order by internet but realized that’s prohibited in Ohio. Will keep an eye for this in stores here - seems I will have to drink it quickly ;)

Just get some wine preserver and use it after you open it... it will stop oxidation by blanketing the liquid with an inert gas and keeping the oxygen from getting to the spirit.
