A couple of years ago when I wasn't really in to kettle bells as a discipline but just wanted something I could take to the park, I bought a couple of bells from Idzo on Amazon. You have to scroll down a bit and they may even be on the second or third page. The shipping is free though and they're about $1 per pound. The handles are large and not perfectly round. Nothing that will cut you up but just a sort of bevel here and there. They are heavy, they don't tear up my hands, and they work....whatever. Although I'm new here I feel like Pavel might say something like "don't be a sissy and go use the kettle bell." With that said, now that I am planning to work towards SFG1 I just ordered a Rep Brand 16kg from Amazon. From reading a few reviews here and elsewhere, they seem to be at the top tier of kettle bells but with more of a mid-ranged price. I'll follow up and let you know how I like it.

I purchased a "Diamond Pro" brand 28kg bell from Walmart.com. Price was $69 with free shipping, which was by far the cheapest I could find for a matte finish cast iron bell.

Matte coating is fine. There is no casting seam on the handle, which is good. The only demerit would be a slight flat spot at the bottom of the handle that might be noticeable if you were doing high rep snatches. I don't notice it on swings, cleans or presses, so it doesn't bother me.

Pro tip: these Diamond Pro bells are often out of stock at Wal-mart. So if you think you want one, purchase whenever you see they are available .

And the walmart.com search engine is terrible. Google " 'Diamond Pro' Walmart 28kg" and it will pop up. Don't use the Walmart.com search engine.

They are also available on Jet.com, which is owned by Wal-mart, for about the same price.

Ok wish for some UK input from people.

About to splash out on a 56kg Kettlebell. In the UK the choices are more limited than most of you guys across the pond have. Looking around seems only three choices
* wolverson black series
* strengthshop powder coated
* Rogue Europe monster bells

Awaiting a quote from Rogue but think the price might be a limiting factor. Which would people opt for. I have 16-32kg bells from wolverson and my 40+48 are strength shop.

I prefer handle and styling of wolverson and its cheaper but feel the powder coating of strength shop might be better? Decisions!

If rogue came back and was fractionally more expensive would it be worth it?

for those interested in the Kettlebells USA Metrix Elite and Classic

Pros for the brand as a whole
-Finish, there finish is awesome, I like way more then powder coat. its also ridiculously chip resistant. throw (not on perpose) my 32kg on cement, a few minor scratches but not a chip to be seen. some cracks on the concrete.
Cons
-cost. Buy them on there Ebay Store, its still "Free Shipping" but they often run deals between 5-10% off.

Elite VS. Classic
- basically the elite model is super nice in the the smaller sizes, especially for people with small-medium hands; 24-28kg or lower. Bigger bells go with Classic, the classic dimension sit better in the rack then the elite and the handle size basically is a non issue (the difference of a cm)
-as far price the Elite model is kinda over priced while the classic is in line with Rogue, kettlebell kings. if wait for a deal on the ebay store the classic at 10% off is a solid 8-16$ cheaper then other options once you figure in shipping.

all and all I really enjoy them. I wish id gotten the classic 32 but its still a fantastic bell.

Overall it feels really good. It's a little bit rougher than my DD bells but that might just be from lack of wear. It just seems like a more affordable DD bell.

That's a 32kg KBUSA on the left and 24kg DD on the right.

I got a 32kg rogue a couple of days ago to match the one I bought a couple of months ago. Second time doing double cleans today and some of the black finish is chipping off on both from banging together. Anyone else have this problem? Is it normal?
Yep, all my rogues are chipped but handles are fine.

I really like it so far. The finish feels great, it's just not as smooth as the DD bell. Overall, I would say they're identical in terms of quality and craftsmanship.

I just got some KBusa bells in (18k/22k), great bells. Not sure if it’s been mentioned though but the handles seem to be thicker then most, the 22k has a thicker handle then my 24 kg that I got from DD. I don’t see this as a downside though

Just to toss in my two cents on this long-running conversation. My first was a 45lb CAP and it was decent for learning the basics. But I have become a bit of a snob, but not unreasonably so.

My next bell was through Rogue. I own three of those now (two 32kg and one 40kg). Never noticed any issues. The handles are great for even folks with smaller hands and they have never chipped or rusted.

I also like Rep Fitness (I own two 24kg and two 28kg) out of Colorado. It's more or less a less expensive version of Kettlebell Kings, but I have had powdercoat on the handles chip on all of them. It honestly hasn't changed how they perform. Good wide base on the 28s lets me do renegade rows pretty easily without fear of having them tip over.

Those, Rep and Rogue, I highly recommend to anyone. They're budget friendly and well made.

I today ordered a 48kg Perform Better (all the others at Rogue and Rep were sold out -- darn virus), so I can't speak to the quality there until it arrives. I'm assuming it should be on par with the others. The only thing I noticed that may not be to my liking is the flat spot on the side where it puts the 48kg, simply because I like what Rep and Rogue have, which are smaller flat spots. My CAP had the same size flat spot, but it was also a smaller bell, so I didn't really like how it pressed on my forearm at the edge of it. I'm assuming the 48 will be a different story because it's a much larger bell.

So, that's all I have for ya there. Hopefully this is helpful to someone.

New here and starting my second week of S&S, with a less than desirable weight of KB. A 25lb on loan from a friend. Worst time to get KBs apparently with the Kung-flu going around.
Any insights as to what acceptable brand might be coming into stock of 16kg or 24kg KBs?
I am on a myriad of "Notify me when back in stock" e-mails as it is, but looking for additional help. E-bay is full of price gougers. :(

Welcome to the SF forum! Where are you located? Rogue kettlebells seem to be a popular choice and they ship to most territories.

Same situation in the UK, I was notified of a pre-order finally being available for a 32kg at Strength Shop. Later that day when I came to place mine, the pre-order allocation had sold out. Got to be quick...

Those looking for KBs during the pandemic might want to consider Dick’s Sporting Goods.

I bought a 40 KG Ethos KB from Dick’s two weeks ago and the uality is excellent, and it was priced at only $105.00.

I checked the Dick’s site just now (dickssportinggoods.com) and they’re presently offering 8, 12, 16, 20, 24, and 32 KG KBs, all at prices below $100. The inventory varies store-to-store, but can be checked for each Dick’s location.

With the Coronavirus, Dick’s offers only a “no contact” purchase: Purchase online, and pick up curbside at the Dick’s store. There are Dick’s stores at many locations through the USA.

I have no affiliation or connection with Dick’s, but thought others might be able to use this information.
