Would the PTTP program work with the snatch and clean and jerk? As these lifts are technique heavy Im thinking the high frequency will benifit them well.

I was thinking to alternate cycles of...
- Snatch, clean and jerk
- 2x snatch pull + snatch + 2x hang snatch, power clean + 2x front squat + 2x jerk

Obviously ending the cycle and starting a new one if I hit a PR or if I fail a lift.

Generally speaking, Olympic lifts are trained for fewer reps in a set - up to triples, whereas strength training is up to 5's.

I think I read somewhere where Pavel specifically said that this program doesn't go well with oly lifts, only grinds. If I remember where I'll post it

As a certified Wl-coach, couple of thoughts:

The complex you described, would be good for general conditioning, warm up with light weights etc but not good for technique nor strength.

In order to develop snatch and clean & jerk, you need to snatch and clean & jerk. :) Aim for perfect technique and quality, reps 1-3 max. Clusters works well like 5x(3x1) rest 30-45"/3' or 1 rep on minute for 10-15 min

PTTP would work for pulls and squats during early stage of preparation phase, however missing the max strength and speed strength which are essential for OL. You may try PTTP say 4-6 wks, then switch something like 5-3-2, 4-3-2, triples, doubles etc.

I remember reading this as well on the "other forum."

I suppose it could work if you reduce the reps down to 3. It would be an interesting experiment to try. The lifts tend to improve with daily practice which PttP would provide. But this would be an "experiment."

Another thing to try would be Christian Thibaudeau's strength-skill plan. Google "Russian strength skill" and you'll find the article. Thibaudeau said he used this plan to improve the lifts of his Crossfit athletes and it worked well.

Or just do what @Taranenko74 recommends.

A 3 Ladder(3,2,1,2,1,1) or 3 x 3 would work. Easy Strength the competition lifts.

If you are training the lifts for sports or power it would work if you already had a base of experience with the Snatch and Clean and Jerk.

If you are training the Olympic lifts for Olympic Weightlifting or learning the lifts it’s not enough.
