@q.Hung, this is a relatively rare occurrence and could indicate a poor quality bell. I have dropped mine many times and whatever they landed on suffered but the kettlebell did not.

Yeah. Wondered about construction (ie handle welded to bell).
Just a point of observation here, the supplier I get my bells from is local, the bells they sell have welded handles..

I walked in one day and found a broken 24k bell, my friend who works there said someone had dropped it on the concrete floor from overhead and it landed on the handle.. though the handle was broken, it did not break at the welds.

Cast iron is brittle and will break no matter the manufacturer if it's dropped at the right height, onto a concrete surface and on the weakest part (the handle).

I've demolished many a cast iron bathtub with a hammer, had to break the 300+ pound tub to pieces so it would fit through the door..

Note: I'm not suggesting welded handle bells are equal to bells which are 'one piece' cast with handle. Every bell maker is different and you get what you pay for (usually). That said mine have served me well, but I have only dropped them on a thick 100 lb rubber mat.

haha with the quality of bells in here i cannot complain...i mean i bought another 30 kg bell from the same store 2 years ago and they shipped me a 33 ( and the number on the handle is still 30!)
Just want to share some stories :)

I once did send my 32kg ironcast flying while swinging (way up). Fell on concrete balcony, although on the belly, not handle. The bell only lost some paint. The floor has a dent. My neighbors and family had a church bell wake up at 10pm.
