Hi,

I've been doing S&S for some time now, and I love it! Slowly but surely building up my strength. This doesn't happen to me every time, but every now and then, I get quite a bit of soreness in my lower back when doing one-arm swings. As far as I know, I think my form is good (I try to follow the instructions in the book). Any thoughts on why this is happening? Again, it doesn't happen every time I work out, but occasionally (like yesterday) it can get quite sore.

Thanks.

Are you doing the stretches?

Make sure that you relax between sets and after the session.

Shake it off between sets. Do the 9090 and straddle QL stretches as relaxed as possible. Breath deeply and let all tension go on every outbreath.

Don't slouch afterwards.
Maybe add some movement practice for easing up and unwinding, like Yoga, Tai Chi or do some Original Strength resets. Maybe add light lacrosse ball massages for glutes and QL.

Maybe take a day off here and there and be mindful of your posture during the day.

1 or 2 minutes of deep breathing before training might also help.

Please post video of your swing.
