That works well for a lot of the GS athletes. Sometimes the thumb down turn can irritate a persons elbow as the radius and ulna twist. Put yourself in a nice hinge with one arm hanging down btwn legs and notice your hand position. Most people will have their knuckles facing forward. That would be a good starting position, but as you mentioned you might be fine with the thumb down.Thanks for that find. A great help. When I've been practicing my cleans in hope of building to the snatch, I'm turning my thumb rearwards as the bell passes through my legs. I notice in the demo that the person keeps the hand position the same when the bell drops. Should I be turning my thumb rearwards or is it just personal preference? Thanks.
