Thanks for that find. A great help. When I've been practicing my cleans in hope of building to the snatch, I'm turning my thumb rearwards as the bell passes through my legs. I notice in the demo that the person keeps the hand position the same when the bell drops. Should I be turning my thumb rearwards or is it just personal preference? Thanks.

That works well for a lot of the GS athletes. Sometimes the thumb down turn can irritate a persons elbow as the radius and ulna twist. Put yourself in a nice hinge with one arm hanging down btwn legs and notice your hand position. Most people will have their knuckles facing forward. That would be a good starting position, but as you mentioned you might be fine with the thumb down.

#3 on his list is helpful. I’ve only ever done dead cleans or snatches and my god after I hike it I definitely am not doing it right driving it upward. Food for thought.

Personal preference. I usually point the thumb back. I tried thumb forward recently and liked it, but have since gone back to thumb back.

Isn't that the location where you and I both attended Strong Endurance in 2018 or so?

Yes, it is! Chicago Primal Gym.

Not sure if these have been shared here or not...

Thanks @Marty ! Yes, Senior SFG Tim Almond (@hardstyle_method) is a must follow for anyone who likes to snatch heavy! Great videos, posts, and demos.

I've bookmarked this post at the OP using the feature provided by the site for future reference. It doesn't show on my phones bookmark though. Does it bookmark it within my profile somewhere? Thanks.

Question for @Steve Freides...

If you use the forum bookmarks feature, you will have a few different ways you can save a link. It’s also important to realize you can bookmark pages on this site using a similar feature in most browsers.

If you used the forum’s, you might try refreshing your view or a logout/login to see if that helps.

Please PM me for further assistance with this. Thanks, everyone.

It’s great that these guys are sharing such helpful stuff on IG!

It's also great how both guys concur with each other upon the low-pull

Focused upon low-pulling my snatches today and quickly noticed how things felt more compact and powerful with better transmission from posterior to anterior chain through the end of the hinge on the way up

Many thanks to @Anna C and @Marty for sharing
