44 in 5 min at 24 kg.

1 hand, switching hands 2 times.

GS would eat me for lunch.
If it makes you feel better I can’t begin to even clean a bell properly w/ a good hinge. It’s either a dead clean or some wiggle worm looking thing that must look absurd to someone who knows what they’re doing. (I hope this doesn’t make you feel better. Lol)

Hello,

Beyond the conditioning, I think that the technique is important too really reap the benefits of any exercise: jump rope, swings, snatches, etc...

As far as high rep drills are concerned, I enjoy polishing my technique with a light weight, after a session or in the evening. I do not do a lot, just a few reps to create the movement pattern.

The good thing about snatches is that they require a lot of volume, so you will progress super fast !

I think we never really suck, we just are in a not that good place of the learning curve, for a short while

As a French saying says : we have to learn how to walk before learning how to run.

Kind regards,

Pet'

Post a video for a form check! We'll improve you :)

I'm not supposed to be working on snatch form until after Sep 30. ?

I only did them now because it's a deload week on the BB snatch before I start my competition prep cycle next week for the Sep 20 event (if it happens).

Dan John has a great article on areas that contribute to problems with the snatch under guns buns or lungs. Tim Almond Hardstylemethod on Inst is doing a deep dive on the KB snatch. In terms of the hardstyle snatch I can’t think of anyone better.
Alternatively check out Craig Marker protocol on the Snatch. I’m currently using it and you can tack it on to the end of your barbell sessions. It’s a Strong Endurance protocol and I would be confident it would take your numbers up.

I'll give that a shot.

5/5@24 should be fairly light work.

When I run barbell cycles I use swings or snatches as part of my warmup... I will bang out 2 or 3 sets of heavier swings or snatches... seems to wake me up well for my DLs... usually like 5/5 for 2-3sets with 28 or 32kg snatch or 3 sets of 10 with 40kg in swings...

Well, my barbell workouts start with snatches, cleans, and jerks.

I'm not sure if I need a pre-ballistic ballistic.... ;)

But we'll see what happens.
