does anyone get a slight bicep pump from snatch workouts? I make sure all power comes from the hips, but at the end of my 044 sessions, My biceps are pumped up a bit. Do the biceps play a role in the snatch? My guess was the initial phase of going from overhead, to lowering the bell back into the back swing. The bicep goes into a bit of flexion on the initial phase of the drop. The next day after my first 044 snatch workout, my right bicep was a bit sore

Actually, it might be during the second phase of the drop, as you catch the bell and redirect it into the hike pattern.

Record yourself and observe.

That makes sense actually, because it does feel more of a stretch rather than a squeeze. Is this normal?

A similar effect happens during 1H swings when the elbow is held bent... Aggravates the bicep and dilutes the hip snap.

044 calls for active pulldowns after lockouts, which adds a lot of downward energy that needs to be decelerated and re-directed.

I only did a short spell with 044, but I would venture that you try a lighter bell and perfect the high cadence pattern. I could do 24K snatches A+A style then, yet for 044 even the 20K was overwhelming for me.

I’m doing it with the 24, maybe I’ll try the 20
