Hello StrongFirst,

I've been seeing allot of talk recently about Tom Furman and coincidentally happened to see this morning that he dropped a new ebook called Seasons of Temper. Figured I would start a thread about it since Tom has been around the industry so long and is a wealth of knowledge. He's also aged extraordinarily well which is what it's all about for me.

Here's a link to the book :

Seasons of Temper

Thank you, Adam

Thank you for posting this!

Spoke to Tom few weeks back and he then told me that the book will be sort of a collection of articles he have written. @Adam R Mundorf have you bought the book?

Dan John has some great things to say about it!

"The issue with Tom Furman's new work, Seasons of Temper, is simple enough: once you finish reading through the whole book, you go back to the start and begin again. There is more information crammed in this collection than probably 90% of the books I have in my library.

I have a big library in Strength and Conditioning.

This is not a one exercise or two exercise "secrets" book. We meet Laree Draper and her insights on the Blonde Bomber's heart issues recovery. We find minimal programs and weekly templates. If you like boxing, it's here. Gymnastics? O lifting? Powerlifting? Kettlebells?

Yup. All here. And...in detail. Lots of details.

But here is the thing about Tom: Yes, it's a lot of material. Yes.

Yes.

And that's great. But then:

Tom simplifies. Keep a moleskin and take notes. There are only three nutrients. Do this.

And that's what I love about Tom's work:

He tells you ultimately to "Do this." And he is right.

I love this book. It's a compendium of the last century of training (for all reasons) and yet it remains true to the needs of the typical trainer...and advanced athlete.

I think the readers are lucky for this resource. I recommend it without reservation and I will dig through it again and again and again."

I have been away from strength training in 10+ Years and havent heard of Tom until some weeks ago where i read about him in here.
I bought his AOW and Im a fan of him allready.
I liked Pavels writings and still do. But Im not into all this comrade stuff/russian anecdotes. So Toms writings are so simple and easy to read/follow.

Is it possible and allowed to post the table of content?

I gonna buy this book later today.
But AOW is still my program.
Thanks you Tom.

It's an e-book. Some really great stuff in there. A lot to take in.

Chapter 5 - The Last Word in Core Training, recommends trying 1/4 TGUs, Windmills, and a combo pull-up/knee raise.

I like windmills a lot - they are one of those "always remember to keep them in the exercise rotation" exercises for me. I always regret it when I leave them out for long periods.

TGUs are a kettlebell exercise that's never been a personal favorite, but again, one of those that make me feel better when included.

The combo pull-up/knee raise - I'm going to give a try today.

I think @Xene ask about the podcast @Adam R Mundorf mentioned.
