Hi guys, I am training to increase my max rep pull ups for the Australian defence force fitness test. I have just completed four weeks of the 'Fighters Pull Up Program', which increase my max from 7 reps to 12 reps(Stoked). My question is where do i go from here in order to increase my max reps. Would i be better repeating Fighters Pull Up with weight or continue with bodyweight with the rep ranges explained for 10+ reps. Keeping in mind, the goal is to achieve as many reps as possible
Cheers guys, looking forward to the advice

Tough question. AMRAP (15, 20, 50?) at the expense of what else? There must be some range that you are looking at. I would focus on what that number is and plan around that.

Is this an annual test or is this a selection test?

This is for a selection panel test which includes Pushups max reps(40 minimum),Pull ups max reps(6 minimum, sit up max reps(60 minimum) and then the beep test. The results are compared to other candidates, with also respect to academic achievements.
I am looking to improve the amount of reps as much as possible to be as competitive as possible. Am currently running a 531 around the 4 main barbell movements, greasing the groove with push ups and running a 80/20 running plan.
In short, the more reps I can achieve the more competitive I will be. So my priority is increasing the rep count. The test is 3 months away

Sould also mention that the pull ups are at a cadence. Cheers

If you are doing pull ups once, as part of your entry selection, then start training weighted pulls.

You'll build greater pulling strength and maintain (or improve) your current max reps with BW only.

On the other hand, if you are required to do heaps of pull ups throughout your selection process, then don't bother with weighted pull ups, just keeping doing 'grease-the-groove' sets of 5-6 reps throughout the day.
