BEAST!!!!!At the first full moon after Venus at inferior conjunction, I did my first back squats in ages. Though with an SSB. Managed a comfortable top set of ten with 315lbs. No niggles or aches at all, so a good start, even if not a promise of anything.
That's a great start. Anyone with experience with the SSB knows that it throws you forward. At the first full moon after Venus at inferior conjunction, I did my first back squats in ages. I took a video. I'll post once I figure out how.
Thanks will do. The video was enlightening. Had some butt wink I need to resolve. I havent filmed myself from that angle in years (well I haven't done too many barbell squats in years).-S-
- Upload it to YouTube, Vimeo, Google Docs, etc.

Stay healthy! Slow and steady - I'm trying to be patient.I did a light deload this week (Friday), no heavy squats. I injured my index finger. Struggled to grip the barbell. It is healing rapidly, it is a lot better today.

Thanks! When it comes to training I'm about as "slow and steady" as it gets, lol. Finger injury was unrelated to training.Stay healthy! Slow and steady - I'm trying to be patient.

So although much more comfortable on the shoulders, it limits your absolute strength due to the disadvantaged position.
This is going to be an interesting challenge.
I'm a huge fan of good mornings. Both seated and standing.Thanks. I'm pleased with the set, and slightly surprised with how well it went.
I really, really like the SSB, both for squats and especially good mornings. It's the #1 specialty bar for me, though a cambered bar also definitely has its uses, and more of them.

Big fan of the buffalo bar. I can get almost as tight and exert as much force as I can with a straight bar but with far less pain in the shoulder and elbows.
Also great for benching too. The stretch in the pecs are great. No need to follow up with flies when you've stretched out the front delt and pecs already.
I feel like I'm listening to Louie Simmons right now.I really love the good morning as well, both standing and seated. I actually prefer it to the back squat and the deadlift and I think it's likely the best exercise for a powerlifter. The only one giving it a run for my money is the box squat, which is another absolute favourite of mine. And I'm not even an equipped lifter.
The stretch on the pecs and shoulders really is something with the cambered bar. And the increased range of motion is worth noting as well. Makes the regular 81cm grip bench feel like cheating.
It's also great for rows and the like as the standard of living doesn't get in the way as much.
