At the first full moon after Venus at inferior conjunction, I did my first back squats in ages. Though with an SSB. Managed a comfortable top set of ten with 315lbs. No niggles or aches at all, so a good start, even if not a promise of anything.
That's a great start. Anyone with experience with the SSB knows that it throws you forward.

So although much more comfortable on the shoulders, it limits your absolute strength due to the disadvantaged position.

This is going to be an interesting challenge.

Thanks. I'm pleased with the set, and slightly surprised with how well it went.

I really, really like the SSB, both for squats and especially good mornings. It's the #1 specialty bar for me, though a cambered bar also definitely has its uses, and more of them.

I'm a huge fan of good mornings. Both seated and standing.

Big fan of the buffalo bar. I can get almost as tight and exert as much force as I can with a straight bar but with far less pain in the shoulder and elbows.

Also great for benching too. The stretch in the pecs are great. No need to follow up with flies when you've stretched out the front delt and pecs already.

I really love the good morning as well, both standing and seated. I actually prefer it to the back squat and the deadlift and I think it's likely the best exercise for a powerlifter. The only one giving it a run for my money is the box squat, which is another absolute favourite of mine. And I'm not even an equipped lifter.

The stretch on the pecs and shoulders really is something with the cambered bar. And the increased range of motion is worth noting as well. Makes the regular 81cm grip bench feel like cheating.

It's also great for rows and the like as the standard of living doesn't get in the way as much.

I feel like I'm listening to Louie Simmons right now.
