Hi everyone, I've been enjoying this program in the evening for a few months, now. I started thinking about lessons from Q&D, like the different benefits of training in the morning or evening. Q&D is pretty explicit about this, but KB SF BJJ doesn't mention it. If I had to guess, that's to allow maximum flexibility. Still, I find myself wondering: Does this type of A+A have the same sensitivity to training fasted in the morning?

I would say that as Q&D is written specifically to deplete CP reserves then a fasted state may control the replenishment pathways.
My conclusion would be therefore that it wouldn't matter for KB-SF LCCJ protocol.
I seem to recall a comment stating that either a.m. or p.m. was better for power training but that is a slightly different topic, but I can't recall where from (perhaps a PT article).
Personally I've always run it in a fasted state at lunchtime or late morning and had good results.

@Pete L That would make sense to me. Thanks for your explanation. Re-reading the paragraph at the top of p. 85 in Q&D corroborates your assertion.

I've just had a quick skim read and the point I was making is covered in The Schedule section. I only have the Kindle version so not sure about the page reference.
It would be interesting to reread all the (reams of) A+A forum posts to see if there is a comment regarding your question.
The power point is also covered by PT in that chapter so perhaps in the evening and fuelled is optimum. However I enjoy training with an empty belly :)

Megan Kelly trains A+A / AGT style under Pavel's guidance and does her sessions fasted.

(Stuff like 3-7 reps every 30 seconds for 40-90 minutes...)

Therefore, it should work at might even be beneficial. You might ask her at instagram about it.
