This is just a thought that popped in my head, not anything related to my current training, but is there anyone that consistently does the Bent Press + Snatch program minimum and who finds it more fulfilling than the classic Getups + Swings + (Goblet Squats)? I like the variety on this blog and I’m just curious if there are any reasons someone would choose (has chosen) one over the other beyond simply their preference, or if they’ve blended the two, rotated between them, etc. Thank you all, have a great day!

Looking at it, you could switch between 6 weeks of PM, 6 weeks of S&S and then do something like KB Strong for strength. I can’t snatch yet, just starting to practice technique, but I like minimalist training, so to me, periods of either S&S, then PMand then Strong would be minimalist but also keep training fresh year round.

One of the projects I am working on with a (secret) code name IPM is the bent press & snatch program.

If you go through my log, you will find many months of this program.

I have finished the dumbbell project, and after I finish another project of mine (LTC: Linking the Chain - kettlebell/dumbbell program), I will get back to IPM.

The cool thing about bent press and snatch is that you can do the program with all 3 bells - kettlebell, dumbbell, and barbell (although the dumbbell swing-snatch and barbell one-arm snatch are quite different from the kettlebell snatch).

Okay great, I have 159 pages of reading material to go through! You’re the best, thank you Pavel

Actually love this combo, Can you explain in detail what you mean and how you would make it into a minimalist program?
I literally just do a set of swings and then a set of crawls, repeat for as long as I want. I try to find ways to increase the crawling difficulty to match the weight of the swings. Light swings are paired basic leopard crawls, heavy swings are paired with super-slow bent-arm leopard crawls, etc. Tim Anderson and Aleks Salkin are constantly coming up with some great crawling variations to challenge anything.

I find these two moves work absolutely everything in the body, with nothing left out. It's an amazing workout.

I’ve found that I feel better training a bit every day, and swings and getups are more permissive to that frequency of training than daily snatches. Haven’t tried daily crawling but that sounds fun! Thanks for the tip
