I like your idea of utilizing a rack carry, too. Especially since grip strength is not my main motivation for the KB mile. Don't know it affects the gait rehab attribute of the side hang carry, though.
Maybe alternate Suitcase / Rack / L / R throughout ?

Do you switch before you feel the smoke?
Next session 6 mins. and some 15s with your 32.
The way I remember it - the burn ended up consuming the majority of the 30s segment while I was switching hands contiguously without stopping. and then I put the bell away. I don't remember being bothered with the weight as my frame could carry it, but my grip vis a vis the forearm muscles were catching a burn pretty thoroughly.

More sessions with a smaller bell.

Coming into spring/summer season so I will be giving this another go. I’ve been clean and pressing 2x24 most of the year so I’ll aim for 2x24 as long as I can then drop to 1x24. I have a SS sled I made at work too that will get a try out as well. Maybe same day?!

Just seen a man in my home town Towcester carrying a kettlebell...! All my anxieties put to bed...!
@Pete L - Pete is that Towcester near Evenley in UK ?

I live in middle of nowhere in Australia and visit Evenley once a year and went to Wantage last year to get some coaching from an SFG.

Any other SFG coaches closer by where I could get some coaching next time ? Tried to send you a PM but PMs not working right now.

Yes! :)
I attend kickboxing classes in Brackley right next to Evenley. Though I've never had the pleasure of visiting the village.
I did another SFG search recently and didn't find anyone very near.

Wantage is 1 hour by Google, but going around Oxford which can be a pain.
There's someone in Rugby @50 minutes
and Coventry @50 minutes. So both only marginally closer.

Let me know and we can see if there's a benefit from a one-to-two session.

Thanks Pete,
We usually come over sometime in May-June-July-ish will get in touch before next trip.

I think that some strongfirst instructors overestimate people's strength. 24 kilo kettlebell mile for 15 minutes caused an injury in one of my forearms. I think 16 and 20 kilo is a good Weight for somewhat strong people like myself.

Did you go straight to the 24 ?

Three years ago as I was just starting to progress with the kettlebell I attempted a k-mile switching arms often, long story short I got a inguinal hernia. Had the surgery no mesh, 100% quick recovery better than new. The mile did not cause it but today I sometimes remember to think on my abdominal pressure and be mindful of my breathing and form.

I started with 16, and then 20. I did it in a park. 16 was quite easy, but 20 a bit more hard. 24 was too hard, but since I had walked to the end of the park I had to walk back. So my recommendations for average strong people would be to start with 16 or 20, or use the 24 for a way shorter distance.
What I did is bring an empty backpack with me in case it got to the point I couldn’t get it home.

I saw a T-Nation article that said something like, “walk as far as your grip allows in 10 minutes. The fun part is you have to get it home and that will probably take another 45 minutes.”

Today after my steady cardio workout (on a stationary bike) I tried some short suitcase walks with kettlebells. Tried 48 kilo for 25 seconds. Man, 48 kilo, is heavy. Suitcase walk with heavier weight also seems to be a good and useful exercise. Anyone else who has tried it ? Anyone who has done 48 kilo for a longer stretch ?

Heaviest bell I have is a 32. Have gone 3200m with a 24, 1800 m with a 32, and 5000+m walk/jog with 12 and 16.
