I noticed a disturbing lack of fun, non-important holiday-themed threads in the Forum.
So I am going to start one:

Do you all use the Thanksgiving Holiday break from your work-a-day life to do MORE workouts?
Or do you just spend time with family and take a break from Kettlebell as well as work?

For me, more time at home = more time Swinging an iron Kettlebell.

I've always been traveling for thanksgiving; another part of the family hosting, usually.
This is the first thanksgiving at home in many years.
And it's the first Thanksgiving in our new home.

I'll have to see but likely - I'll get in a snack of 10 reps or so.
Nothing huge.

I don't really take a break from training over holidays or Holy days. It isn't that I have to train, but I don't really see it as a day off from training.

And honestly, I get antsy if I don't do something, especially if I'm expected to be social. Training before helps level me out.

I'm taking advantage of this Thursday to get in a long run in the morning before anyone has claims on my time. At least that's the plan!

I'll probably cook the turkey tomorrow so it will be ready for sandwiches on Thursday. May or more not eat an entire pecan pie from a place that makes pies that weigh around 5-6 KG, true story. So if my shopping procrastination does not foil my pie plans, probably a triple session on Thur-FRi, and maybe Sat-Sun , on general principle.

As someone who grew up about a 15 minute drive from Plymouth, MA I see Thanksgiving as just another Thursday..........................just another Thursday that cost me a fortune when in reality a bottle of Coke Zero and some Nathans hot dogs would be just fine. But I do get my training in, there's no reason for me not to.

Not planning on missing any training.

But have been doing turkey day themed bonus workouts at the gym lately. Turkey Day Massacre (which weirdly enough, coach had no idea what the Alice Resturant Massacree is and didn't name that workout after it), Cranberry Chaos, and another one I'll probably do Friday.

I’ll sneak a workout in sometime on Thanksgiving, most likely, but otherwise the holidays generally lead to slightly less working out so I can hang with the family or if we’re traveling. I still try to find the time for at least staying on schedule with my main workouts (variety days are what normally get dropped). Generally what ends up happening is I have to workout at a less convenient time but I can still make it happen.

Great replies. Putting me in the holiday mood. I will likely workout everyday but Sunday when I'm going to have a mobility training session with Leslie who is a certified KB instructor I found on this website. I guess I am big tight knot and she says it will likely be a YEAR before I can become flexible enough to do the Bent Press.

After a 2 hour, 24Kg/53lb ruck on Saturday at sea level we came up to Angel Fire, NM for Thanksgiving. Rucked the same pack 6+ miles yesterday at 8400~8700’ elevation to see how the atmosphere would affect me and was pleasantly surprised that it was minimal. I will likely ruck again today. Brought my 16kg, two 20’s, a 24, 32, and 40. Will likely jerk and snatch those Thanksgiving morning and either ruck again or jerk again Friday.

I take kettlebells with me when I go on break, but I usually just drop length of training sessions so it ends up being easier sessions for maintenance.

This week, though, I didn't feel like taking off from my jerk training, so I took my 22s with me. I won't do as much GPP, though, so the week will be easier anyway.

At home with some time off. Today through Sunday will be a lot of cooking, cleaning, hopefully some relaxed time w. family. There will be time to train and I will absolutely use it - it's a self-imposed "GPP week" for me, so a little more of the things I tend to skip or leave out or just don't do when I'm focused on specific goals.

Dude. You just cannot tell a Miss’ippi redneck about so Heavenly a place that does the Lord’s work without including a link!!
Looks like they are updating their page. Pie Snob, in the Phx. area.
Pies are ridiculous, but I procrastinated. I'll preorder for Christmas.

Normal not to notice much with the altitude for the first few days of training. A week in it hits you, then after two weeks you normalize. Then when you get back to sea level you will be a Tree Climbing Bug Eater ( even more so ) for a bit.

Pre turkey heat ck. this am. Ran all 3 days of the Wolf + the Force Recon complex, as one large unbroken complex, keep em off the ground,
Dbl. 16's, 2-1-FR-3, 100 reps, took a bit over 6 mins. Enjoy !
