Other/Mixed Do Onions Increase Testosterone?

Other strength modalities (e.g., Clubs), mixed strength modalities (e.g., combined kettlebell and barbell), other goals (flexibility)
<sigh>.

Actual onions or a supplement? Taking a supplement would mean you'd miss out on eating onions.

Bought chopped or chopped yourself? Red onions or white or something else? Raw, cooked a little, cooked until translucent, or caramelized?

When a player hits a big shot in a big moment, basketball commentator Bill Raftery shouts the catch phrase, "Onions!" a metaphor for having big balls, which is a metaphor for performing well under pressure.

I would expect the metaphorical link between onions and testicular fortitude to be a lot stronger than any literally physical one.

I believe most statistical data confuses the truth. For instance, some believe eating organic food prevents illness. There may be data to back this up. But those who eat organic are more likely to stay in shape, eat less trash, stay healthy etc. So if men who eat onion have higher test. levels, its may not be causational, but it maybe that those with naturally higher test. are more likely to eat flavorful foods. Myself, I enjoy very dark chocolate, strong whiskey (101), and very spicy foods. And I am all man.

In the videos, one of the studies used a specific intervention of giving onion extract.

And there was a control group with a placebo.

@watchnerd I didn't and probably won't watch the video ... is the effect transient? e.g. it increases testosterone after 30 min and then wears off over a period of hours? Were they able to find a dose-response relationship? e.g. onions per day or grams onion per kilogram bodyweight? Were they able to isolate it from other lifestyle factors? e.g. men that eat onions are more likely to eat veggies, and more likely to be attempting to lead a healthy lifestyle that includes resistance training and not being obese? Does it increase women's testosterone levels as well?

He goes over many studies, many rodent, some human.

In the human study using onion extract there was an increase in test at day 14, but it was gone by day 30.

There was also some info on sperm production and motility.

Back in the 1980's everyone was coming out against fat, oil, egg yolks and beef. Those are the things that build Testosterone. Hence today we live in a world of girly men.
Eh, I'd put my money on increased exposure to endocrine disruptors via microplastics. Egg, fat, and red meat consumption has pretty much stayed roughly the same (although yes technically a small decrease) since the 80s. Beef consumption is roughly doubled since 1932 when it was first tracked. I think plastic consumption is going to be the lead poisoning of our generation.

100% agree. There are countless studies showing no nutrient difference in conventional vs organic. And if you talk to farmers, the only difference is what chemicals they use and their yield size per acre. Organic just means that they use different "organic certified" chemicals.

Is this all a ploy to get blokes to eat more veg?
Bit like that vegan claim that eating black beans may make your erection last longer.
Combine the 2 for full effect...a weeping, farting, smelly old man. I'm all yours Ladies, smother me in chocolate.
