Alternative Programming Release Methods?

I've been trying to figure out how to get the polished programming being taught in KB201 for “Jurassic,” “907 Hypertrophy,” and “Heavy” and in doing so contacted a few Strong First Certified instructors. I heard back that this information is only licensed to be taught to those who attend in person these different workshops. The workshops seem like a great option with a very fair price, but the issue is not all of us can travel to the available workshops. I'm wondering if StrongFirst would consider making the programming data from the variety of workshops available in eBook or similar, for a fee of course. Would anyone else be interested in this? If we get enough, maybe it would bring some light to the possibility. Seems to me the latest and greatest programming should be available for all, not just for those who have the ability to attend the conferences.

It has been said that you can often attend the session virtually as well. I would imagine it is case by case though and depends on if the host and instructor are willing.

I was told, "StrongFirst HQ has not approved holding virtual workshops at this time". If anyone knows of a virtual KB201 I can attend please let me know.

It would be the actual workshop that you would attend but the instructor would have you on some sort or screen there I’m assuming. I know people have posted here that they attended virtually.

Can you provide some examples of these posts? I've searched, 'virtual', 'virtual worship', 'virtual conference', but cannot find anything. I've spoken with the instructor and they are going to clarify, but requested some examples.

Just going by memory, could be wrong.

@Str0ngN3rd may I ask why you would like to get your hands on polished programming? As far as ROP is concerned, if you're looking to modify it, simply use a weight 4-8kg heavier than your usual ROP bell for the first rung or 2. As far as Jurassic is concerned, there is the Louka YT video that was provided to you in another thread to educates you on Jurassic ladder progressions.

If you'd like to give money to StrongFirst to learn about the kettlebell press without wanting to attend a workshop, I suggest going to their online courses where you can purchase the Victorious Series by Fabio Zonin with 2 programs provided along with video instruction.

I just started running ROP per the book ETK. As the Swing and TGU program in ETK was polished and improved via S&S, it seems ROP programming may have been similarly polished and improved in the ROP KB201 material so I'm curious as to what that is. However, I know many people have successfully ran ROP via ETK as is, so I'll do so, but would like to get a peek at any improvements available.

I appreciate the modification suggestion and did enjoys Louka's Jurassic ladder progression video.

Louka gave two great leader plans in his YouTube channel..you can use those .

I personally have seen a few modifications of the original ROP either extended or compressed..

What I would highly encourage is work with an SFG for your technique.. I've had students PR just by making 1-2 small adjustments in their technique

If there are any virtual StrongFirst workshops I need to be informed since they should not be happening.

The programming in KB201 will likely appear in the StrongFirst Training App.

If you have never run the original ROP then I would start there.

With RoP being the usual pointed to ‘program after S&S’ I agree it would be cool to see some more stuff widely available on it.

For S&S I’ve got the audiobook, physical book and the course from here so I feel like I can get an answer to every single question and immerse myself fully in it - know I’m doing the recommended programming/technique.

For RoP I’ve got the book, but it’s so old now that I worry it’s outdated? (Especially if there is a course with updated programming). Then I am picking up info here and there on this forum (very useful for research) but it would be great to have a place where the programming and techniques for the movements is all in one place like the S&S course.

I’d certainly buy

RoP cp ladders are still the best way to learn and groove 1h cp imo. I suppose if someone advanced enough to have a + 1/2 body weight pres it's probable they'd need more advanced programming.

How many times have you ran the ETK ROP version??

ROP delivers, there is nothing outdated about it. We always rediscover and reimplement things from the past. My understanding of the major changes is in the ballistics department, not the grinds. Basically do A+A swings or snatches prior to your pressing practice.

Luka in his video recommends switching it up and doing ballistics before one day and after another. I really want to attend a 201 as well but i feel that there is plenty of information out there to base it on. It’s a great program that delivers.

Never, but I will at some point in the future and would love a video course when the time comes.

I’m not arguing it isn’t good, or works, by the way. Just that I’d love it if it was organised in a similar fashion to how S&S is now.

Happy to hear the book I have is fully up to date, but I would love to see into that 201 course, surely there’s some new/more stuff in there?

There is a video course that goes with the book.

So has technique and drills etc in that video not been updated since then? (Genuine question id review it if so in future!)

I guess my thoughts are: it would be nice to have a fully comprehensive and modern guide to RoP. There’s definitely something that can be added in, since there’s the whole 201 course which I assume is not just the old book/video.

I will still run RoP even if there isn’t this new course I made up. But just letting people know that there’s at least a demand of 1 for that if they do want to bring something out!

I'd second that.
Plus Built Strong Minimalist has some further ladder progressions. Plus three NL variations to choose from.
That's 20+ ladder programmes, each lasting 8 weeks. Add in the original ROP and you're set for the next four or so years :)
