I'm having difficulty getting people to leave me reviews on my instructor page. Do I have it correct that the must register for the forum to do this?

Dan, I believe they have to sign-in for something. For your instructor reviews, they could just sign in for the web site and not the forum, but many people just do the same for both.

Reviews? I don't see this option, where do you find it? Sounds like a great thing to use and publicize to the Instructor population. Can an instructor enter a review on behalf of a student (assuming the student did write it, and gave their permission to use it) the same as we might do on our own web sites?

@Anna C, I'm pretty sure the student has to login. You can Edit your own page and post whatever you like, but for it to be officially a review, we have to have a way to find the user so a username, password, and most likely an email confirmation are required.

Thanks Steve. But it is unclear on how to do this. I cannot find a "sign in" box on the front page, nor on my instructor page. This will turn many users away. Can I request HQ make this available option?

@Malcolm McCowan, welcome to the StrongFirst forum.

You've responded to an old thread - instructor reviews have been live here for a while now and speaking as the person who sees all of them before they're posted, I can tell you we typically get new ones every day.

In order to write a review of an instructor, the first thing you must do is find their personal instructor page, which you can do by going from here to the main web site (by clicking Home or the StrongFirst logo), then Find An Instructor.

The search box is pretty cool - it will match what you type in across most of the fields of our data so, e.g., as search on

Fre

will find you people with "fre" as part of their first names, as part of their last names, or as part of their address (e.g., Fresno, CA).

All that said, not every instructor has a page - instructor can opt out of that. Additionally, you may happen to be looking for an instructor whose certification with StrongFirst has lapsed - if it lapses, their page will no longer be available.

So, could be a million different reasons - please try my suggestions above. When and if you're still stuck, please PM me with the particulars and we'll continue the discussion that way.

Last but not least, a quick note for anyone reading along here - we have lately been seeing people trying to contact an instructor by writing a review of them. Please post a review where it says to do that on the page, and please use the Contact item, also near the bottom of each instructor page, to get in touch with them.

@Steve Freides
Out of idle curiosity, I randomly clicked on a few instructor listings.

Listings where the instructor has posted content, like a picture and bio, also had a space to post a review.

Listings with no posted content did not have any way to post a review.

That may be by design. I think the procedure is that an instructor is notified his/her profile is live, but they must "touch" it in some way before reviews get turned on. I don't know why but I'll ask.
