  1. Barbell Duck Deadlift in PTTP: Is it worth it?

The Duck Deadlift is a quad dominant variation covered in PTTP. Has anyone tried it? Does it have any benefits that a zercher squat wouldn't have? I cannot find much info about the lift outside of PTTP.
  2. Barbell Deadlifts everyday?

Hi, Can I do deadlifts everyday? I want to improve my grip strength and trapezius muscles. How many sets and reps should I do if I’m doing deadlifts everyday? Thanks.

    Barbell PttP in the wild

Surprised to see Bromley doing a program review of PtP. He has a very interesting take and brings up a few things that I didn’t pick up on regarding the program progression. Great watch
  4. Barbell Questions About Power to the People!

Hi everyone, I've read through PTTP front to back, but I can't find the part where it says how much weight to add per lift after every 8-12 workout "cycle" is completed. If memory serves me correctly, I'm supposed to add 5 pounds to my starting weight and repeat after each cycle peters out...
  5. Barbell Adding the Squat to Power to the People?

I'm looking for a minimalist program that focuses on the Bench, Squat, and Deadlift. PTTP is an extremely interesting program to me and I hear great things about it. I want to implement it as soon as I'm done with bootcamp and whatnot. But I am curious if it'd be too taxing to add Squats to the...

    Barbell PTTP

Hi, I'm just entering into week 3 first cycle (15 sessions, 5x a week), and after that I'm planning to roll out the second cycle. My question is How long the program can be followed?
  7. Other/Mixed Wiry strength applied to pistol squat

In PTTP wiry strength protocol, Pavel suggests 5-day training, 2 sets of 5 reps with 3 to 5 min rest between sets, the second set having 90% of first set weight (if recommendations for wiry strength have changed, please let me know). Currently, I have some shoulder issues that prevent me from...

    Barbell 80/20 progression

I enjoy the programming suggested in Pavel’s take on Faleev’s 80/20 routine. It is a 5x5 routine, where twice a week you squat, twice a week you bench, and once a week you deadlift. Stretch and go home. One squat/bench day is meant to be a heavy day, and others are meant to be 80% of your...

    Barbell PTTP bear starting weight

I’ve ran many cycles of PTTP in the past, and have enjoyed using the structured wave cycle template. I’ve also enjoyed cycles of a modified 80/20 routine, and numerous kettlebell routines (ss, etk, etc) For reference, my tested deadlift 1RM is 2x body weight. Hypertrophy hasn’t been a goal...
  10. Barbell PTTP routine setup confusion.

I am not exactly new to weight lifting but I still consider myself a beginner because I was never consistent. I basically haven't worked out for more than 2 months in a row and that was around 3 years ago. It's has mostly been on and off with no results for years. More info about me: - 28 years...
  11. Barbell PTTP push press

As the title implies really; is push press a good variation of the press for use in the PTTP program? Or does the fact that it uses a lot of legs mean it’s too much with deadlifts? Would it be good if you were not doing deadlifts as well? Eg pttp push press with DL trained twice a week say Not...

Barbell Power to the People 3x a week?

I've been going to the gym for about 2 years doing Stronglifts 5x5 (similar to Starting Strength) without much success. I had a year break from going to the gym. I stayed active (was finishing the basement), but resumed working out few weeks ago doing this: I feel like I won't progress on...
  13. Barbell PTTP, Russian bear and 5-3-2

I much prefer the PTTP program with 5-3-2. As I read it the Russian bear program for strength and size is basically lowering the weight to 80% of that days working weight and doing up to 20 sets with 60s rests after your working sets. Also a reduction in frequency to 2-4 times a week? If I’m...

Hello everybody. I am about to buy a used barbell set (50mm) for future endeavours, but mainly for my brother. I tried to get him on S&S, but he realy digs the idea of a minimal deadlift routine, so i thoght: Power to the people. The set i buy comes with 2x20kg 4x15kg 6x10kg 4x5kg The way i...
  19. Barbell PTTP five pound or ten pound every second workout jumps?

I am following the PTTP program in the SF barbell user course right now. You add five pounds per workout, two sets of five. One upper and one lower body lift. I am doing bench and DL. If you feel like you are going to fail a set, you take a day off, reduce the weight 10-15 percent and then...

    Barbell PTTP and soreness

I've been following the Power To The People! program for a few weeks and I'm coming to the end of my first cycle. I'm making progress but the workouts are starting to leave me fairly sore (deadlifts and my lower back, in particular - presses are hard work but aren't beating me up at all). I've...
