I'll keep updating this thread from time to time too (as long as people aren't annoyed). I get it if people aren't fans of FB.I will have to make a FB purely for this challenge.

Thank you - I hope people who can will give it a go if it's appropriate for them. I made a private FB group for anyone who's interested in joining. 2022 SQUAT 315 CHALLENGE
I will have to make a FB purely for this challenge.
Easily achievable.I few days ago, I tested my max and did 215 lbs for 7. The internet tells me that’s a one rep max of about 258. So my challenge is to bring that up 60 or more pounds during the year, which should be reasonable!
I'll put "William B" in our notes! No pressure for everything to be on video necessarily. My 4th set yesterday was 315x5. I should have recorded it.
10 sets of 33 sets of 10?
Looks like you're the one to watch during this challenge.10 sets of 3
Ha, doubtful. I can do 10 sets of 3 with a 5RM…if I rest long enough between sets.Looks like you're the one to watch during this challenge.
Ok, sounds good. I'll post whenever I squat 314+ (my barbell is 44 lb).I'll put "William B" in our notes! No pressure for everything to be on video necessarily.
We're accepting 140kg for the metrically-inclined and just to make things easy so, if you're in the ballpark then you're good!Ok, sounds good. I'll post whenever I squat 314+ (my barbell is 44 lb).
My plan is also to bring up max strength to make 315 less of a deal. I don't plan on hitting new numbers very often but when I do, I'll post here. Looking forward to checking out your log and progress!I have a log titled "Last Man Standing". I am going to take the approach of increasing my 1RM to try and make 315lb feel "lighter". Then 1 day, later this year, when I'm feeling good, I'll do a Hero session and see what I have in me! I will lift raw (but with a belt). I'm 42 and currently weight 235 lb (sorta trying to get to 220lb).
Bearing in mind most thus far can't do it for a 1RM you would appear to be the front runner right now.Ha, doubtful. I can do 10 sets of 3 with a 5RM…if I rest long enough between sets.
It's not really a contest (but who can help seeing it that way?), but on the FB page the biggest entry so far is 17.Bearing in mind most thus far can't do it for a 1RM you would appear to be the front runner right now.
Nothing wrong with a bit of healthy competition. It's not really a contest (but who can help seeing it that way?), but on the FB page the biggest entry so far is 17.
I am competing with myself. There is always someone stronger. It's not really a contest (but who can help seeing it that way?), but on the FB page the biggest entry so far is 17.
The squat is an awesome lift.I am competing with myself. There is always someone stronger.
I like this challenge because it promotes what I believe to be the best excersise. This is great for Strongfirst, which is very deadlift-centric (I like the deadlift too).

I think there are some snakes in the grass thoughBearing in mind most thus far can't do it for a 1RM you would appear to be the front runner right now.
