This past week I've tried something new for warmups before I start barbell training at the gym and thus far I love it.

It's a simple and sinister warm-up executed with a 16KG or 24KG kettlebell, and I believe it was in one of the Vodka and Pickles articles consisting of the following:

  • Turkish Getups, 1-3 singles/arm
  • Hardstyle 2 handed KB Swings: 3x10
  • KB Goblet Squats 3x3
Note: Good form is emphasized throughout.

I find it, thus far, have me nice and limbered up for the subsequent barbell work and such that follows. I ordinarily lift first thing in the morning after a good night's sleep most nights, and this is a nice 'wake up' for my CNS before I start lifting.
