Had a really good volleyball session last night. We lost 1-2 to a better team, but I was blocking and hitting really well. This kid (everyone younger than me is a kid) was blocking against me, and every time I hit it past him, he'd turn to his team as say "sorry, I should have <insert excuse here>" - as though there no way I should have been able to hit it past him. So then I'd hit it past him again, and he'd do it again... repeat all night. :cool: I think he only actually blocked me once. Very satisfying.

Not my best day with DL. First set was good, but was pretty fatigued in the second. Some last soreness in the press/pullup work too. I'm guessing some residual fatigue from Tuesday's snatching. Ditched the core/grip work today to try to bank some extra recovery.

After stretching, I grabbed a 25# KB and tried a couple of bent presses. Don't know how good my technique was, but it was a really good stress on the obliques. Seems like a fun movement.

At about 18:00, I had a chance to get in a session before dinner. I headed up to my room to change, saw the bed and thought I could really use a lie down... Ended up napping for an hour, rather than training. We're all fond of saying "listen to your body"... my body was saying "you're sleep deprived, dummy. "

Good session with the bag today, sharp strikes and good snap back on my kicks. Which made me realize how sloppy some of my previous sessions have been... and most likely my sparring technique has been the same.

Came to the end and still had a little spare energy, so got in a 3rd round of TGUs with the beast, first time.

Good day all around. Pretty good DL today, but grip was close to failure. Need to invest in some gym chalk for heavy weeks so I can still get some assistance from the thumbs. 50 total reps on the presses/pullups, pleased with that.

Forgot to mention that, following a talk about CC on @Mirek training log, I tested my wall handstand hold time on Sunday. Got to 1min when it felt like I was going to start shaking and aborted. Not too surprising, that's a little longer than a TGU, and I maybe could do a half-BW TGU. Better than the last time I tested, at least. Realistically the best thing I could do at this point to improve my time is drop some dang weight.

Different feel to the run today. My HR stayed low for a while so I could push the tempo, but felt like I was having to push my legs harder than usual. Based on how I was feeling the rest of the day, I suspect it was some DOMS from the Monday session.

Busy day at work, didn't make it out to stretch.

Program called for light conditioning, but I went ahead and bumped up to sets of 5 on the snatches. Went surprisingly well, grip held up nicely. Eager to see what I can do on the next hard conditioning session.
 
It's a gateway lift. Soon I'll be out on the streets, lifting things over my head for money.

Better DL session than Monday, grip held up right until the last rep, very encouraging. Pistols were a real grind, though. The press and pullup volume is definitely wearing me down too, but I feel like I can hang in to finish the cycle... let's see if that holds up.

100 snatches in sets of 5, hit it faster than I thought. That was definitely it for today, though - grip was fading out at the end, and technique was sliding a little.
