I put a video up the other day on my facebook that showed the kettlebell World Heavyweight Champion Иван Денисов competing in the secon of 5 events that make up the new take on kettlebell lifting known as the Pentathlon. Here it is:

In this event Ivan does 60 consec
utive long cycle clean and presses with a 36kg kettlebell, multi hand switch (as is the rules), without putting it down!
I said I would attempt to do the same despite having NEVER trained the repetition clean and press EVER in my life (the only time I clean a bell in training is to get it to the rack position so I can then perform several presses on their own before putting the bell back down).
Plus Ivan outweighs me by nearly 40kg of solid muscle . . . . and there's also the small fact that he happens to be the highest totaling GS athlete of All-Time. So I was feeling confident of victory ;-)!
Well, as this video shows, reality can sometimes hit you up the face like a brick as some things aren't as easy as they look on video (or as easy as Denisov makes stuff look). Here I'm doing the set with 32kg, less than planned. I didnt get it done in 6 mins but I did get all 60 reps done, and looking back at the video I can see where my lack of practice with the cleans is slowing me down. I should be dropping out of the top position and bouncing off the hip straight into the clean as you would do in the jerk, Ivan does his reps in this manner.
All in all i'm happy enough considering, and I know, with a bit of practice I can get the time down and the weight up that wee bit extra.
Thanks for watching,
Paul.
