This popped up the other day. Maybe the title is more click-bait-y than required. But the movement at least looks graceful when done by this guy!

And if you don't move your hips up prior to jumping up but rather while jumping up, you just did a sprawl, which is what you do in wrestling when a guy is under you or tried to get under you (it's the classic counter for leg attacks).

If, however, the guy is on top of you - front or back - you can do a sit-out instead:

Lots of ways to get up from the floor, there are better and worse options for each situation, whether you just want to get up, dump weight off of you or stand up under a weight.

Cheers
Period.

So this morning did the same basic routine as in the video from last Wed, except I left out the initial start on the back with a roll over into prone position - dropped it because it didn't seem to serve any real purpose. It definitely made them a little harder by eliminating the bit of added rest and slight momentum from the roll.

I also experimented with a second variant - the first one involves starting with the down elbow even with collarbone and pulling across, similar to a TGU. Second one involves having the down arm under your body more, tight to the ribcage. You have to push the body back over the knees to extend the arm - it is a LOT harder to perform at similar loading.
