Additional information to the post above:

The exercises in the Naked Warrior also don't use pull up bars, kettle belts, rings or anything else. Just your own body.

Is training without pull ups just as effective for building strength and muscle mass as training with pull ups?
 
I think that achieving the pistol squat and one arm push up are worthy goals.

Aside from that, equipment is very useful, that's why it was invented. Unless you have a good reason to exclude pull ups, barbell and kettlebell exercises, I wouldn't.
 
I haven't seen that app but if it's very intense as you say then adding pullups might be too much for a beginner (if you're just starting).

Plenty of strong guys don't train pullups but can still knock out an impressive set if asked to do so. They are normally on a program with some other type of big pulling movement so they train it indirectly.
