Fozzy is a Goodendoodle we got as a pup. Charlie(brown dog) is a Labradoodle we adopted at about 10 months and had him for 2 years.

Fozzy is a very good dog who loves to be off leash, snow and water. We invested a lot of time into her. She is great with the twins.

We gave up Charlie to a wonderful family who drove 8 hours to adopt him. He is very loveable, craved attention, obsessed with tennis balls, but very challenging at times. He snapped at our kids a few times and we could not trust him or risk something happening. It was a very tough decision to find a new home for him.

My wife and I still feel very guilty that we failed him, but we do not have the time to give him what he needed. He is very happy with his new family but he will always be apart of ours.

You gotta let that go man. You found a good home for your guy and as you said he's happy.

Before the guy we have now, we adopted a dog once for about a week and had to give her back due to my allergies. We still have pictures of my daughter with that dog from 8 years ago and if they pop up on facebook everyone says "awe" and my daughter remarks about how good of a dog she was.

We took our dog to a Master trainer for issues relating to his behavior around our kids. He was fine till they started walking, and then they kept cornering him, stepping on his tail etc. She told us this is an extremely difficult behavior to influence and her own dog was not good around very little children.

We lived in a pretty large house at the time and were able to keep them separated any time an adult wasn't immediately present, till the kids were about 4 and had better motor control. He also got older and this mellowed him too. He never snapped but he did growl a few times and showed food aggression around the cat (which we adopted from a homeless veteran).

Lots of people have trouble with their littlest ones and their dogs, is not an easy situation to deal with but all too common, especially when the dog was there first...

I like dogs allot. Can we start a thread of everyone's dogs?

This is Trooper.

What a handsome boy! I love boxers. We lost ours to liver cancer about 2 years ago.

This is my mutant 45+lb Irish Terrier, Fergus the Red.

The photograph above is of my 8 year old GSD 'Peg', my best friend and undoubtedly the best dog I've ever owned (and I owned a lot).
