Zach - it must be about 3 years since I was screened. Pretty sure I had a 2 in the DS.

I will take some videos & upload them this week.

Back squat to follow.

I'm now working hands on with a coach and am making visible improvements so will let this thread go. Marchese, thanks for the tip about the 10 min squat test - seems worth pursuing.

Marchese, that is a _way_ cool video.  Very highly recommended, and thank you for posting the link.

I have had great results with both of the above.  For me, it was more about stability and muscle activation that mobility.  It is also very common among other athletes I have worked with.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Pavel's mobility work..... I don't have direct experience, but it normally gets good reviews.

My advice is to listen and watch the experts for each type of squat.  Dan John likes the front squat and Mark Rippetoe likes the back squat.  They are two entirely differnt exercises.  The back squat the center of the weight being driven up is at the lower back and the movement is started with hip driving.  The front squat the weight is centered over the quads with the knee moving forward to initiate the movement.  The back squat the head is 45 at the ground and the front squat the head is neutral.  I like mixing all three.  The goblet squat is in my opinion a variation of the front squat.
