Off-Topic Great Video About the Squat

When I was into bodybuilding I recall hitting a plateau once, very stubborn and I just couldn't push past it with my existing program.

Was talking to one of the other guys at the gym, more of a powerlifter, and he said "You aren't squatting heavy often enough." basically, the squat defines/limits/gives boundaries to all other strength movements. "Its a natural steroid."

So I started working in leg days with him whenever possible and always getting in with the big boys so I'd have a solid spot. I put on 10lbs bodyweight in a month and a half, all my other weights went up, DL and bench went way up, and I'm not talking about a nibble. IIRC I went from repping 235 for 10 to repping 255 for 10, finally hit the 300 club in flat bench. Squat went from 325 to 375, seated behind the neck military press topped out at 255 for 5 clean reps.

Many of the guys at the gym thought I'd finally yielded to the siren call of the Juice, but heavy squat makes you stronger, period.
