In my experience, your diet and exercise choices need to be for lack of a better phrase - "on the same page."

If you are exclusively a runner, then your dietary choices, volume and timing will be a lot different than a bodybuilder aiming for <5% body fat. This is why talking about diet is so confusing for people because instead of looking at themselves they just make blanket comparisons to others.

IMO, maintaining as much lean body mass as possible as we age is most important. It's also the most difficult! I can say at age 46 that's it is much tougher now than even just 5 years ago. STRONGFIRST!
