I don't think I'll ever be at the level where that's a warm up and then the "real" training begins.
You could do it if you geared your training the same way, once you hit simple it's just repeat training.
That's how I did S&S from the start, every bell wt increase I would take more time (had to), then slowly shaved off seconds with a timer. It was a fast track approach for me, but I've since reined in training aggression a bit.. age forces smarter training, but still my foot is on the gas pedal as always.
The 'secret' in this game is being ok with and thriving on day to day, mundane, punch the clock training.. :)
