Supposed to be a heavy day (W5D2), but woke up with the kid's head cold. Did an easy session of W4D3 at an easy pace, did a bit of lawn mowing between sets.

Tightness in forearms during farmers today, and really pulling leg up high in marching fries my hip flexors.

Easy jog, 6x 2run/3walk
HR looks to have been between 110 and 150 the whole time, need to learn more about MAF HR zones.

1st 2min session, felt good. Nasal breathing 99% time, but not always diaphragmatic only.

Felt good, bit of tightness in rear shoulder (teres minor?), seems to be from crawling or farmers carries.

Hands have copped a hiding lately, dunno if it's been the hot weather the last 2 days or what (37C both days)

DOMS in glutes from pushing a broken down car up a hill yesterday. Dan John might be onto something with his sled work...

First day of Goju Ryu karate training last night. Couldn't manage 20 straight pushups as part of the warm up, which was a solid kick in the ego. Got around 14 or 15 before I had to drop to knees.

GTG pushups in sets of 8, approx 6 sets.

Be interesting to see where I'm at next week, I plan on getting my RM up to at least 20, purely to save my pride!

No other training today, sick kids, bad sleep, night shift tonight.

Caught the kids' cold, kids have been sick, Mrs has been sick - training has been basically non existent as has my motivation. Contemplated wrapping up Giant X1 and moving on to ROP 3 weeks early.

GTG pushups have been a big success, for the last few days I've done around10 sets of 8-10 each day, did an RM test yesterday and got 20 quite easily. Have been trying to alternate each set with 5L/R Gorilla rows @24kg, probably managed around 50% of the pushup volume.

Did a (cold) pullup RM test and managed 7. Bit disappointed, but my training for these has been all over the place so I guess I'm not surprised. Chin ups are well over 10, but still irritate my forearms.

Calf stretches to finish.

Shouldn't have run today, RHS achilles was a bit tight already and afterwards it has tightened right up.

Edit- almost looks like insertional tendinitis/ irritation from too many calf raises off a step, this compressing the tendon insertion point. Trust me to bugger myself up trying to do the right thing.

Will switch to riding my bike for z2 work for a bit

Goju Ryu session, fell short on pushups again at 15 rep mark. Burpees beforehand are bringing me undone. Need to build some reserve strength in the pushups.
