I don't like the beginning and end of the article. However, the simplicity of the program is great. Thanks for sharing :)
 
its interesting, though similar to works on similar principles as Q&D but very different. more like the original Rugby study.

Agreed. I don't remember the olde tyme strongmen (yes, that is how it's supposed to be written) talking that much about the push-up. I'm sure they did them, but I don't recall them giving push-ups that much praise. I also don't buy the idea that push-ups have gotten a "bad rap." Really? From whom? The bench press part is just silly. One could argue that no exercise done in the gym has carryover to "real life" because real life doesn't use barbells. When I go skiing I don't go down the mountain with a barbell on my shoulders, but the strength from squatting sure helps when I take a fast turn.
