I enjoyed that article while not agreeing with much of it. Organic theories of human development (that we know innately what will work) resonate with me but only up to a point because they don't explain elite performance - no-one wins a gold medal any more who isn't extensively coached using scientific methods. And connected to that, as discussed on the forum recently, is my belief that the strongest, fastest etc people ever born are wandering around today. Amongst those people living today as their ancestors did thousands of years ago we do not find Goliath-like specimens, nor do we find 'natural' record-holders in running, jumping, lifting, swimming etc. That's not to say there aren't some really fit and healthy people amongst them.
