ok guys/gals this is my very first post on this awesome forum that i've just recently discovered...so please go easy on me ! ;>)

basically i'd like to hear your opinions on pros/cons of (2-arm) KB swings vs. 1-Arm DB snatches...my main goal (at least, while doing these 2 particular exercises) is metabolic conditioning/fat-burning and core strength, while minimizing the risk of injury, as i am late 40's and am trying to train smarter as i get older(and wiser). I've trained off & on (mostly on) since college and am in very good overall shape for my age (6'2" , 205, approx 15% bf). For an idea of my current "strength" level i can do about 8 strict chinups(palms-in) wearing a 17# weighted-vest.

Thanx in advance for all advice & feedback on this topic !

Rod,
They can both be great - see an SFG to get your swing form dialed in and progress toward KB Snatches

A straight arm DB snatch or an Olympic style DB snatch? Both are awesome exercises.

Hello,

Swing is safer than snatches (IMHO). Studies [globally] say that a snatch is a little better fat-burner exercise (above all if you do it in HIIT).

Kind regards,

Pet'
