I just got in a quick workout during lunchtime in our gym. A crossfit class was in progress and all the kettlebells, except a lone 16Kg and a few pink 4 lbers, were stacked up for some weird WOD.

I decided to do some swings with the 16Kg, really focusing on perfect form; packed shoulders, feet grabbing the ground, hard hip drive, tight lats, and overspeeding the descent.

I became acutely aware of how great my lats felt! It seemed as though there was one solid sheet of muscle connecting my shoulders to my hips, almost like a cape hanging down from my shoulders.

I'm big in to cues, so I'm going to work on that with heaver KBs....once they get freed up from the Crossfitters swinging them over their heads!

This post made me want to do pullups - I guess reading about lats - so I did a few with a 20 kg bell on my foot, long hang before pulling, false grip, solid pause at the top, long hang at the bottom before releasing the bell.  Aah.

Thank you - as Pavel might say, Lat Power To You!

Note to self - do pullups more often.

If I'm not mistaken Pavel is from Lat-via!
