Tore a callous on the right hand on the third set-pair. However the pain was moderate, so I was able to keep going and finish the 20NR after I took the nail clippers to it. I’m counting that as a win for slowly but surely toughening skin.

This was a nice session. Form is steadily solidifying. I'm doing a lot better job at rooting to the floor and bringing the hips to lockout faster.

So relaxing.

I razored off the thick callous pad above where my right hand kept tearing. I don't like doing that, as it is detrimental as often as it is helpful. But in this case, it helped alot; no bleeding and no tearing. The skin below the pad must of been stretching under load when the big pad was getting bunched up from too much tissue.

Nice Lil Sumthin' Sumthin' session. I made some strides learning how to keep my lats tight throughout the snatch, which improved the speed of snatching and the smoothness quite a bit.

Another nice little session. The snatch reps are really starting to flow. Approaching the grip portion of the lift like it is something to play with has improved my ability to re-grip on the drop. It also makes the skin on the hands tougher overall, as no one portion is bearing all the load.

Since I've started looking at snatching like it's playtime, moving the bell all over the hand, my hands have started to finally toughen up since no one section of skin gets torched. The lift is really starting to flow now and I'm getting a lot of enjoyment out of executing it.

Finally a snatch session where I didn't lose any skin to blisters or to dead callouses peeling off. Progress! Wasn't too sure how this session was going to go. Was cranky all day, and so tired. Had a ton of difficulty keeping my thinking out of the negative, say nothing of attempting to summon a positive thought! I felt a bit better after the second nap, but not much. But this ended up being a really sweet little practice.
