My Busy Dad protocol - a GtG success

Q&D 044
2 series 5/4
24kg

Sleep has been piss poor lately, and it shows.

Haven't been having a good time outside of training. So, I'm not really interested in putting the pedal to the metal here either.

Just trying to keep the ship pointed in the right direction.

Working on getting the house sold, and then focus on other things. But right now minimal volume snatches are probably as good as it gets.

Feeling good today.
Sweating at the end of the session for some reason. I'm usually dry as a bone.
Felt powerful all the way through.

First day the 2 series session felt easy.
Maybe I Need to add more power.
And maybe the adaptation is starting to take effect.
Or maybe I just had a good day.

Come to think of it, it has been almost 6 weeks.

I don't know why I hadn't seen this before... But in the last reference endnote [8] of Q&D ...

This is the plan...

"A very effective strategy to take after the first 12-week run of Q&D is alternating six-week phases of Q&D and A+A. Both develop the fast-fiber mitochondria, albeit in different ways. Both train the power and net many WTHEs. If combined with other types of variability listed in this chapter, this strategy is likely to be sustainable for years."

Good training.
Felt moderately difficult.
Overall getting easier.
Looking at getting a 4 series session in .
Maybe next week.
We'll see how things work out.
Moving trucks are going to be coming and going during December.
Move is set for shortly after new years.
We'll see how the logistics work out.

Reps felt powerful and easy.

A little late tonight.
Already ate dinner.
Usually eat dinner after.
Today was 2 meals
within about 4 hours of each other.
But I don't time this right now, or restrict it.

Took a couple extra days off. Lucky me.
Today was my first day of 4 series in this cycle
Still cleared 5 reps in 10 seconds on the last set.
Very good for me.

Not as much pump in the forearms and biceps in past sessions of this cycle.
My biceps are probably the weakest participant of this practice.
Grip has been confident throughout the entire cycle, but is still still experiencing overall decrease in the amount of congestion in the first 4 series day of this cycle.

Good training.
Some congestion in left bicep and left grip.
Interesting.
Felt easier in the rests.
Recovered well before the next series.
But my arm still noticed after the session.

another easy day.
bell at the top flies a bit too fast and I have to time it carefully to not hit the forearm.
still feels like the bell is getting lighter.
this is a very casual way to keep improving.
snatching for about 10 - 15 minutes a week, now.
I'd actually like to up that to an hour or so, but we'll see.

Forgot to do my snatches until after I had my nightcap.
Thanks, holiday spirits!
Interestingly, not as different and experience as I thought I would have had.
My left forearm does not have the same pump, or congestion as last time.
We'll see what happens next time I run sets of 10.
Right now, still feeling fresh and easy.

good easy day.
sets of 10 were very comfortable.
no problems with grip or muscle congestion.
looking forward to heavier days with 4 or 5 series soon.

Still very busy.
Flying across the country next week.
Gonna stow my 24kg bell in my car when they ship it.
Planning on bigger and better things after I get there.

if all goes well I won't have an appreciable break from training.
Packing up some final things for the move.
Fingers crossed.
Flight's tomorrow.

@LarryB

Could've been better, could've been worse.
Spent a week in a hotel due to closing concerns.

Got sick right after we moved in. Got better. Got to work. Finally getting our stuff in order.

Shocked my system today.
Back definitely noticed, although I think in a good way.

Looking forward to laying out some sort of mat on the concrete in the garage for Turkish getups, and getting on the road to solid.

Long term Idea is to take a de-load back to 24kg and build up quickly till I'm Back to 32kg. Spend some time there. Get to know it. Doesn't need to be 4 weeks. It can be 6. Or 8. And then think about taking a 40kg step load. Goal is 3 sessions per week.

Get back to simple conditioning levels.

Then approach solid.
