Companion thread to my training log, here is what I eat. I travel professionally and do my best to pack my own food for both health and financial reasons.

For this four night trip I’ve got....

2/3 loaf of Ezekiel bread
1lb sliced ham
1lb slice chicken
1lb sliced cheddar

1 box Ezekiel granola
3 cups low fat Greek yogurt (chobani)
3 cups whole milk Greek yogurt coconut flavored (Trader Joe’s)

3 JJ Virgin protein bars

1 pack salted almonds (Trader Joe’s)

Starbucks via packets
Trader Joe’s broth packets

16:8 kind of day, adapting with the flow of life.

It seems I’m averaging 100-150g carbs most days. Today 20g carbs, very close to pure carnivore. Honestly the gut feels above average today compared to most days.

Is it low carbs? Low fiber? fat? High protein? No junk food (but junk liquid)?

Let’s be honest, probably it’s something not even on the radar. It’s DEFINITELY nothing covered by current nutritional “research” or “science.”

Did a taste test of canned fish from Trader Joe’s today with my dad. This is a wildly unfamiliar area for me, and both mom & Mrs Bob hate fish so a perfect time to do it.

Overall, I think I will have canned fish more often. Pretty good stuff, and we just did very basic ones.

TJ brand fish in order favorite to least:
Smoked trout in oil
Mackerel in oil
Smoked herring in oil
Sardines in water

Chose canned fish because it is shelf stable and would travel well.

May be an interesting thing for @LoriLifts to look into on her meat log...

Yesterday.....closer to 120g carb. In comparison, did not end up feeling so great in the evening as in the lower carb day.

Could have also been the wine.

Breakfast
4 scones with butter or curd or jam

Lunch
Canned fish tasting

Dinner
Mississippi beef recipe
3 glasses wine
Some dessert bars

Stomach ache

I don't crave fish very often, but I keep some smoked herring in the cupboard for for when I do. Really seems to hit the spot, and takes about 10 seconds of prep time. I like sardines too, but if I eat them at home they tend to "live on" in a way that doesn't sit too well with the wifey.

Kind of an odd past couple of days.

Lots of wine with parents in town. Diet altered as they eat significantly differently than I do. Primarily everything is over seasoned and oddly cooked, then juicy goop that remains turns into some weird soup. Some fast food while on Denver.

Anyway, back home with just me and my two closest, so should be back to normal.
