Without revealing what those programming options are, is it possible to elaborate more? Are we talking about a progression that is different than step loading for swings and/or TGUs to reach timeless simple?

No, it's not different from the step loading presented in the book.

It's a scheduling technique that I remember as actually being discussed here on this forum.

Hint: It's a time saver and an acknowledgment of post-simple intensity increases.
