Is it a smart idea to reduce the weight and focus on one arm power swings with proper form? Or to just do regular one arm swings.

I figure if I build my strength enough for the power swing my time will be a lot better right? For the SS goal?

In short you need to increase your work load in order to build strength. Either add weight or do more sets.

What exactly do you mean by "one arm power swing", in contrast to a "regular" one arm swing?

If you mean shadow swings, as in, actively throwing the kettlebell back between the legs; I was under the impression those (shadow swings) were for two arm swings only, and at around 30% of bodyweight.

If by "one arm power swing" you simply mean a snappy, hard-style swing, then I thought that was the proper form anyway (for S&S).

If you mean just one rep at a time, and reset between each, then I can't address that. I've heard of that technique, but not with one arm swings, and I've never done them anyway.
