041421: RM test with 24+16...yep, no longer a 10RM. I got a "dirty" 8, 7 clean reps with the 24 on each side. Last time was a "dirty" 10 with 8 clean reps, so definitely disappointing, but what can you do. Life happens. So, back at it, doing 3.0
041921 GIANT 3.0W1D1: 2x18 @ 24+16 @ 20m; 5m Suitcase carries @ 32

Session felt good. I think I probably rested a little too long in the early sets...got used to the rests for the 5s and 6s from 1.0! :) What's interesting is that before my move and enforced layoff, my left arm was my stronger arm, whereas now it's clearly my right arm (which makes sense, since I'm a righty)...just one of those weird things.

Nice improvement! Starting to feel the weight move. I also have a second 24 en route...should be here tomorrow, so that's exciting.

Got my second 24! That was harder than expected, but I think still good progress given the change in load from last week!

Good session today. The carries were *tough*, mainly due to it being hotter today and I walk outside.

It's a little cooler today, but I was *moving* on the carries today...the 32 just felt super light and I went probably 50% farther than usual.

Happy birthday to me! Pretty warm today so the carries were *not* fun, but I got even further today than I did Monday. Also got one more set today with the double 24s than I did with the 24+16 last week so that's SUPER sweet! That said, totally looking forward to a deload next week, as this week was massively stressful at work.

Got much farther on the carries again today...the 32 is feeling....well, not light, but lightER. :) The deload week is feeling good so far!

Again got farther on the carries. Nice that I got 80% of the work from last week in just over 50% of the time...feels good!

No carries today. Instead, my warmup consisted of creating a small obstacle course for my granddaughter and running through it with her! We had a blast!

I wasn't aiming for my week 3 numbers last round (I forgot to look it up), but I ended up hitting it +1! So that's nice. I didn't get a chance to test my RM over the weekend, so I'll just run 3.0 again. I suspect I might be close to a 10RM, but I'll test after this cycle.

Hooboy, getting hot here in AZ, so didn't do any carries for these two sessions. Also, work is still just kicking my butt and not sleeping well. The carries definitely seem to take more out of me than the old deadlifts I was doing as a warmup before, so I might try to solve that problem sooner rather than later.

Had a bit of a recurrent infection, so doc put me on some REALLLY strong antibiotics that kind of wiped me out. I'm just now getting back to where I feel like I can train again. Was able to get my training area set up better so I can do deadlifts again, so that makes me happy.

Belated Happy Birthday. I've been hit by the heat (& humidity) up here in Pa too. Been dropping off a set or two, when training.

Thanks! The heat is fully in in AZ, though thankfully we don't have the humidity you guys do. This week has actually been pretty mild, with a day or two below 100 (not MUCH below, but below :)). I had to do a full reset, as the meds I was on knocked me down HARD. Coming back now and feeling it. I dropped the carries entirely, cause walking in circles in the garage sucks, and I've got some mats down where I can do deadlifts again, so that's nice.

I worked in AZ over a two year period back in the mid-90's. Remember my first trip into Tucson was in April, and the pilot announced it's a balmy 105 as we were landing. Ha
 
Yeah...when we lived here before I was doing S&S in the garage with the 24 and the 32 in 110, and BOY did I feel it. Supposedly the heat shock proteins are good for you?

But even still I'd rather do it here than your neck of the woods (I grew up in OH, so I know the summer weather there in PA), or say, Houston...no thank you. :)
