I realize its impossible to diagnose....but..
Several weeks ago I was doing a TGU with a 40kg and began to loose it as I was coming down (step 12 if you count a TGU as a 14 step movement).
I fought it but it was wavering all over.
The next day I had soreness in that shoulder area.
It remains 3 weeks later.
The trigger area seems to be about halfway down my humerus directly between the bicep and triceps...just below, I think, at the outer deltoid insertion point.
Only have pain now when the arm is extended and above shoulder level.
So...any simple to explain rehab protocol? I've been using Arnica and Tiger Balm and haven't done any exercises for almost 3 weeks...getting antsy to start Q&D...

@CMHoward, I would go see a doctor. Where you feel the pain may not be where the injury is - best to get it checked out so that you know what's going on.

@Steve Freides is right. Go see a doctor. Preferably an orthopedic or sports medicine specialist. It may just be something simple that some rest (possibly active) will fix, or it could be something more serious. The shoulder is a complicated bit of anatomy, best diagnosed by an expert.

I've thought about seeing a specialist. However three things:
1. I'd have to see my GP first to get referred to a specialist (required by insurance) then wait and wait...
2. If I go through insurance, they notify my Agency, and I'm automatically put on Light Duty and have to ride a desk for who knows how long
3. I quit doing any upper body work about 2 weeks ago and have noticed a significant reduction in pain. I really think it's just a tweak, pull, stretch, micro tear...
So...what I'm looking for is some ideas for rehab..stretch or not, mobility movements or not, resume swings/ snatches with a lighter kb...heat or cold, massage, trigger point "digging", etc.
Thanks.
