Barbell Programming for barbell training?

I think in this instance I disagree with Pavel and the collective wisdom given thus far. I advise you go with SS or SL 5×5 or GSLP with plugins.

You will be a novice and able to make good progress every session. In my mind you would want to capitalise on your ability to do so without compromising form.

His conditioning book has some evil, evil workouts in it.
Definitely but strikes me as more of a peaking book as opposed to the optimum way of building an aerobic base.

Although that book would short and boring.
 
Has anyone had any experience doing Deadlifts using Reload? The program uses 5x5 which seems to apply to Deadlifts as well but many starting programs program 1x5.

I did Reload 2 years ago when I start to train serious with barbell again.
