Hey everyone,

Just looking for a clarification on the pull up rules. (@Steve Freides )

"the event is terminated when the competitor quits or fails to make three successive attempts"

Are the repetitions meant to be preformed with minimal pause at the bottom between each rep or is there some leniency with regard to a dead hang between reps?

Weird question but its one that came up.

Thanks again

If I was judging, I'd consider a longer pause at the bottom _better_, all other things being equal, because it would be easier to see that it's a real dead hang. You can stop at the bottom or the top for as long as you like, and I've judged competitions where people got near the end, hung at the bottom to recover a bit, and then cranked out more reps. We had one guy who was a climber who would hang by one arm and then the other to recover before doing more reps.

@Steve Freides wow ok thanks for the clarification!

Ok so a dead hang for any duration between reps is allowed in the TSC.

The only reason I'm making doubley sure is because I have a competitor who I think could crack the top 10 in the men's elite division.

Thank you again for your time
