What option in your opinion would be better when it comes to building endurance in Push-ups, Pyramids or Ladders? Or maybe some other approach that you tried and it worked?

Hello,

@mikhael
As far as endurance is concerned, pyramids work well.

You can even push this logic further, using a push pull pyramid (or squat if you want upper / lower)
1 push up - 1 other move- 2 push ups - 2 other move

The "Juarez method" also works well. Let say your longest set is 20 push ups
set 1: 20
set 2: 1
set 3: 19
set 4: 2
...

Kind regards,

Pet'

Ladders are magic, IMHO. Lots of ladders, and a few times a month, a warmup set or two then a near-max set then one or more back off sets. For higher reps, this is a formula that has worked well for me.

Are we talking regular push-ups? How high would you go with your ladders and how many?

Rather than say 5s, a better answer would have been ~10-15% of a max rep set.
