I just consider the hardstyle push up the default for a good standard push up.
Exceptions:
--You have some fitness test, law LE or military, when reps / time is how you're measured
--You want to train some other, specific athletic carry over, e.g. I like spider man push ups because the cross body stabilization with one hip flexed and the other extended carries over to my split jerk
--You want to train for planche
--You want to train for ring work
